Leylandii

Hi

I have an Leylandii trees all around the school were I exercise my horse, when showjumping or dressage. Recently she has developed an allergy of coughing, itching and hedshaking and I think it is the Leylandii which is causing the allergy, have you every heard of this before? or do you have any information about Leylandii that would help. If leylandii trees are cut right down to just above the soil, will they grow again? Am thinking of having a couple taken out but the tree people say to cut them down rather than remove everything...

Can I grow mushrooms using dowels on leylandii stumps?

I have felled 2 leylandii and want to rot the stumps/trunks organically, and have read that growing mushrooms on tree stumps speeds the process up - but can mushrooms grow on this type of wood or does...
