Hi---- Does anybody know how to drill glass in an aquarium .My son is building up a large tropical customized aquarium.Also is it recommended that he gets a professional or can he do it himself.It is quite expensive to get a professional to do this and they only do it without a guarantee.thanks in advance

Where are you in the UK.....one of my local fish shops has drilled loads of tanks for me...at �10 a go at thier shop.


It's a fairly easy thing to do providing you have the diamond glass cutter, lots of patience and a steady hand


My lfs is World of fishes in East Grinstead, Sussex


you will need a spearpoint bit they come in various size's, and a drill. you also need bluetac and turps , you make a resevoir with the bluetac , pour in the turp's this is to stop the bit from overheating .set the drill to a slow speed , that's all there is to it,,,, hope this help's

i would suggest a cross of cellotape over the area to be drilled too
