I once saw alan T. telling his adoring public that the way to combat this was to get some barley straw into a pair of tights along with a brick and throw it into your pond and this will do the job.
Hi sft42, I tried the barley straw packs in our pond. Every day you have to swish them about but it didn't work very well.
How long have you had the packs, WendyW? I only noticed an effect after about 6-8 months after they had started to rot.
Ah Cupra .. maybe I didn't leave them long enough. After about 3 months I gave up.
My Dad's patent method is a big stick and an hour a week dragging as much of it out as possible. Fish tend to eat it as well, so may thats an answer.
