Has anyone a tried and tested cure for blanket weed in a garden pond. We have tried a few, some expensive and others not so but they have not cured the problem. We installed a new filter pump and waterfall 2 months ago and have had to clean the weed from the waterfall and the pond every 2 weeks. Many claim to get rid of blanket weed but would like to hear from someone who can ascertain that it has worked for them.

Took a friend some hay bundles to Spain which Igot in a garden centre. Tie it near the waterfall and wait. He said it is brilliant.
A friend of his has turned his poll into a pond, multiplied the amount and iis over the moon.
I agree with andy - my parents always use hay bundles and it really does work a treat - even for flat water ponds too.
For some reason the straw thing only works if it's barley straw, the last time i had blanket weed I ended up having to use a chemical treatment I can't remember the name off hand but I know I've got some left in the garage so I'll have a look in the garage in the morning and let you know what I used.
I also used to find that the barley straw method worked well.
This backed up by physically removing some by twirling a stick around and leaving the weed on the edge of the pond to allow any mini beasts to escape, kept the weed down to an manageable level.
Cloverleaf Blanket answer. Used it in my koi pond. Superb stuff.
