Gas fitters left at half four.
I realise how fortunate I am to have a new central heating system fitted for free (been a council tenant) so got no complaints there.
But I can say to anyone wanting a new heating system fitted, (if ur paying for it) DON'T have Phoenix Gas!
I know that you cant have a job done without a bit of mess but I'm still cleaning up. Ive got plaster trod through my flat, ripped wallpaper, plaster in my sinks, plaster on my table even got change my bedding because its covered in dust. And to top it all, 3 of the radiators don't work. (they never tested them before they left)

Apart from that....

I live in a cul-de-sac - myself and neighbour are the only ones with the oil. The rest are Phoenix - they seemed to have got it done ok
they should not have left 'till the system was balanced..they'll have to come back..complain to council !!
I paid British Gas good money to instal a new boiler - I stayed in the house. My only request was for the guy not to go out and leave the front door open as the cats could get out.

Needless to say, I spent the day rushing to shut the door after he's just popped out to the van. Like you I was so glad that he was gone at the end of the day.

they ought to have put down dust sheets through the house too...
Haha Nails. You will soon be straight. The rads that are not coming on. Do they have individual thermostats? If so those areas may not yet have fallen in temperature to the settings required for the rads to flow. If they do try lowering the settings.

I'm ringing the council tomorrow minty, bit pointless having radiators that don't work.
If I do a bit of decorating for anybody I wouldn't dream of leaving the place in a mess like this.
They were in such a rush to knock off that they have also left a pair of step ladders behind.

Togo, I'm not to clever with plumbing but they have a heat control on them. I have 2 in my living room both set at 5. One works the other doesn't...
Question Author
Will get back to this in a min. Still mopping :-)
It may just be warmer where that rad is Nails try dropping it to say 4 then 3 and see is it comes on. You will be sweltering when we have finished. :))
You can use the ladders to climb the walls Nails (^_*)
Maybe not thermostats but timers and one is 5AM. :-)
Question Author
ive played about with the 'timers'.
They are all on 5. Some work, some don't. Have changed the setting on all of them and still the same, some work and some don't. Probably something simple (or probably they don't work) but up until now I cant get them on.

//You can use the ladders to climb the walls Nails//
Yep, looking that way Togo ;-)
Just think of it as Spring Cleaning, Nails. There you go, two jobs in one. :-)

Don't forget to wash the curtains.
Question Author
ive had enough now. One room to go (my sons) and that can wait until morning. All the junk out of my utility room is in there and it can stay there, along with the plaster, dust etc.
Dirty ***, some people got no pride in their work...

More like a deep clean Tills. Had to wash every cup, saucer, glass and plate (and everything in my cutlery tray) How on earth do you get plaster dust in a closed cupboard?
Beats the cr ap out of me!
Nails, I have experience of plaster and dust having just had seven rooms in my house decorated and three rooms laminated. Dust gets everywhere!
Question Author
So does plaster apparently Tills, I forgot that I still need to clean my sinks. Bloody full o the stuff. But I'm knackered now so stuff it until tomorrow ;-)
Question Author
Just curious Tills, but how the hell do you get 'dust' with decorating?
Removing wallpaper and taking up carpets.
...sanding paintwork as well.
Question Author
lol Tills, never had 'dust' as such taking off wallpaper. Carpets I can understand tho!
