Help!   I moved into a new flat about 8 months ago....I noticed the other day, whilst cleaning, that the stainless steel cooker hood and backsplash seem to be going rusty!!!  There are lots of little rusty coloured flecks showing up....that wasnt there before!

I'm pretty sure that this shouldnt happen....can anyone please help????????????

Many thanx in advance..

less good quality stainless steel can rust. The solution is to polish the rust off then coat it with a protective layer to stop it happening again. Don't want to give advice as to what to use because it depends if the stainless steel is polished or satin finished etcetera. If there is still any guarantee on the kit then that would be your first line of approach before you try to clean it.

Ohhh yeah, the guarantee should definately still be in date.. I've only lived there 8 months or so... thankyou for your help.

Have you tried cleaning it with baby oil?

Seems to work rather well on our stuff - didn't believe it until I tried it.

But would certainly complain first.

Try cleaning it with WD40 any stainless steel it smell at first but soon goes and it comes up real nice Try it and see
