My water company has sent me my water rate bill for 2017, which has increase from last year by £4.00 per month.

But that is not all, they have been cheeky enough to ask me for a further £2.00 per month, so has to help in providing 663 million people who lack safe water and a further 2.4 billion people without access to adequate toilets.

Tell you what 'Mr Water Company' give half of the £4.00 rise you have imposed on me to your good cause, then I am quite willing to top up your profits with the remaining £2.00.

I seem to recall I get a water related charity request every year with my bill.
How much is your bill per month AOG?
Well , I'm surprised at you AOG - I thought you would embrace the chance to further exercise your philanthropic and altruistic nature , to third world countries , often shown here on AB
Yes, I've had my water bill, but they didn't ask for any extra money.
How much was yours hereIam? Ours seems ever so low - always is.
Ours(Southern Water) varies (per 6 months) from £104.00 to £124.We are on a meter and have no mains drainage(which certainly lowers the cost)Our septic tank is only emptied every 4 years (there are just two of us)
Oh sorry no Charity demand here either.
I pay £12 a month. I can't complain at that
I changed over to a water meter 5 years ago, and it was the best thing I have ever done......I must be saving at least £15 a month.
I'm on a water meter and pay just £50 - 55 every six months!
I am puzzled, AOG, as to why you think a voluntary £2 donation to the WaterAid charity goes to top up the profits of the water companies.
I pay just over £12 a month. I'm on a water meter and live alone.
What intrigues me is that it costs me around 400 smackeroonies a year to have a bit of water piped to my modest house but apparently for two or three quid I can provide fresh water to half the villages in Africa.
"Our septic tank is only emptied every 4 years..."

Yuk! :-)

FF, read it again, AOG is suggesting the company give £2 of the £4 monthly rise in his bill to WaterAid.
No I don't get any water bills.
I don't get a water bill either
High five Wolf xx
:-)
NJ, you could get your water cut off and carry it from the nearest well or public loos, or you neighbours' outside tap
