Rubbish. This country is one of the most socially aware in the world. Anyone who thinks the poor here are so terribly hard done by has never seen poverty.

england is and always has been a land of haves and have nots .just look at the toffs on the tory benches in the commons. look at the empty seats in wembley just after half-time. normal traditional supporters wouldn't miss a second of the action, the johnny come lately toff faux supporters are now the only ones who can afford entry fees these days and don't really appreciate the game. this government wants to look after the top 10% and screw the rest!

While the poor in this country have it tough, there is a heck of a lot more inequality in other countries. South Africa, for example.

Poverty is about how miserable you feel about your life everytime you see rich people having fun. If they were all packed away to the Caribbean, where I could no longer see or hear them, I'd be a lot happier.
