I have some old plates that I have never been able to identify the pattern.

Can anyone recommend an on line appraisal service?

Post some pictures on here. There are some knowledgeable people here regarding retro "stuff".

Thanks for the suggestion Stuey but I'd rather not post pictures on here.

The only thing I have ever established about them is their age and manufacturer, the pattern has always alluded me hence me now giving in and wanting to seek professional advice.
I'm going to be really inquisitive, EcclesCake: why are you reluctant to post photos on here? Personal pictures I can understand, but ones of objects? Just curious.
Question Author
The previous 'owners' might see them ;-)

I just don't want to post images that I can be associated with.
I could probably tell you if you uploaded a picture. What is the maufacturers mark on the back? this site is pretty good

OK, thanks for answering.
Retro, I figured you'd be around sooner or later:)
Are the plates nicked?:)
No, there are no defects on them at all:)
Hi Stuey -I have to do loads of research on my stuff as often it arrives in a box with no descriptions. Once you have the makers mark you can often date it to within a few years and the patterns are fairly easy to find. No good without a pic though. BTW -I sold that nice Greyschott clock it went to Las Vegas of all places!
That's good. I bet that a casino didn't buy it:)

Thanks for the link, I don't seem able to find my pattern though.

I will mandraulically go through each pattern and see if their are any images that match.
can you describe the pattern and give me the makers name?
Question Author
Thanks Retro but I'd rather not.

I am simply looking for recommendations for an online appraisal service.
Never used it Eccles but you might want to explore this one

How very very weird.
Question Author
Thanks Mazie, I've seen them before but was hoping I might find someone with some first hand experience of such sites.

Retro - Weird? How?

I've asked a question seeking a recommendation, nothing weird about it at all.
weird eccles in the fact you are reticent about uploading a photo of your plates to a perfectly safe and anonymous site for appraisal.
Question Author
Retro, I though I covered my reasoning in my reply to Stuey at 15.01.

Any suggestions from the evening crowd?
