Model out door Railway

hi does enyone know if its possible to build a 00 gauge model railway in our garden , all the people i have talked to said it will just rust and not work. Eny ideas welcome thank you.

Places like Bekonscot Model Village (gauge 1) seem to manage OK, so I don't see why 00 should be a problem.

most decent 00 stuff is made from nickel silver and is pretty corrosion resistant.

And Peco track plastic sleepers will stand up to all sorts of weather. There's a blog on 00 in the garden here...
