I have an Azalea shrub which wasn't growing very well. When I dug it up I found lots of small hard yellow eggs which when crushed had a white milky substance. Has anyone any idea what they are?

How recently did you buy the plant? Is it growing in a container/tub? Does the foliage look ok?
I woner if these small yellow eggs are really, slow release fertilizer granules, I sometimes discover these around my plants when trasplanting, then it dawns on me...ahh 'Miriacle grow'. just a thought.
