China

I might also be in the wrong section but here goes. I live in East Sussex. Does anyone know where I could find a reputable valuer for a dinner service that I suspect could be worth quite a lot?

Do they visit to value? Or do I have to take it to them?
Sorry. I don't know. Have a look at their website.
I think that one of the big auction houses has an outpost in Petworth. Poss Bonhams or Christies.
Near the house walls and close to a roundabout if my memory serves.
If you don't want to hike to Petworth......

What is the make and pattern?
Gorringes is the best auction house in that area. A classy provincial house, they are bound to have a specialist who can tell you straight away. They're in Lewes.

Wallis and Wallis, another in shoota's link, is a good house but they are militaria and toy specialists !
That's the one, FredPuli - my mum sold some of her antiques through Gorringes.
