A friend (who has been a veg grower for years) has had a crop of potatoes that are semi-transparent & too hard to eat after cooking whether boiled or slow roasted.
Any ideas as to what the reason might be? he doesn't remember the variety name, they weren't his usual choice. Thanks.

hmmm, I'll slap some on me derriere so I can slide along, all this shuffling about is giving me friction burns :o)
Ouch that looks mightly swollen, you'll need at least three tubs then..............
That's enough ladies, break it up right there http://i54.tinypic.com/30bz69l.jpg (pst Robi we'll get her when she's asleep in her goddam SOCKS) Oh they changed the Black Tulip design... (well they would have, since your childhood, Kit...) ...but that's the one. I can still smell it now, forty years on (told ya it's strong). I never was sure if it's for men or women but who cares when it's that fresh.

My sense of smell is actually impaired - too much Black Tulip no doubt;-) Here's the story that starts off with a cardigan: I bought one (and this one I did like) and washed it as I always do before I wear anything. Then I noticed the yarn had been tied together in one place and that knot kept popping out on front like an extra nipple ha ha no matter what I did, so I took it back. I hadn't worn it except prancing in front of the mirror and you really couldn't tell it had been washed. Or so I thought. The sales girl immediately detected a scent of laundry detergent =:0 ...how was I to know;-) I flatly denied it and she took it back.

...but anyhoo the point of this story is my sense of smell is really impaired. (Too many colds I think.) There's a new, Swedish perfume house called Byredo and I decided to have a sniff at their scents. I didn't notice anything in particular with any of them but when I came home and read the reviews for each, one review said to "imagine your grandmother with a penis, and your teeny niece with a handlebar moustache, and translate that into a scent". I would have cried if I hadn't laughed so much. I could fall into a heap of dog poop and never notice. (Luckily, I hadn't bought the perfume...! I do like my perfume to make a statement, but I'm not sure it's that one???)

Good on Mr Woofy! / Yes jno said Lille last weekend. This is odd. / I like that hairdo too Lottie.
Right, I have now copied and pasted that darn email Robi and sent it via my AB email address to your AB email address!!

Glad you all like that hairstyle. Unless I have my hair straightened I just have to keep wanting it. My hair is not exactly curly just wiggly in all different directions and when it gets wet it wiggles even more. It was very curly when I was a little girl - I looked like 'bubbles'.

I just love straight hair!!

Thanks for the Tulipan Nets. It really is lovely - tastes more like butter than butter does - in fact when I first started buying it in Spain I thought it was butter. Nothing beats it.

I'm off to bed shortly. Hoped to find Shaney on here tonight and am wondering if Mr S is home.

Catch up with you all tomorrow. xxxxx

hahaha...you should have tied a tassel on the cardi nipple Kit :o)
My sense of smell is pretty keen, and if I have a bad head it's even sharper. After trying dozens of perfumes I always come back to the same old classics, No 5 and Shalimar...Samsara & jicky are nice too & pretty similar to shalimar. I've yet to find a modern one that I really like but if you class CK1 (unisex) as modern that's as recent as I get.

Solved the jno mystery, she went to Lille on the 9th and I found this..."Then when I get back I am off to inspect monasteries in Bulgaria for a week so you won't be hearing from me for a while"

Fingers crossed for the mail Lottie...and thinking of shaney & Mr s too.
Yes, I remembered about Bulgaria just now as I was in the shower! I often remember things in the shower... and get bright ideas, but it's like the ideas that present themselves in dreams, when you wake up you wonder what was so brilliant about them in the first place - and likewise when I dry ha ha.

CK1 is one of my all time favourites and I did have a normalish sense of smell way back when it was introduced. Based on the others you like Robi I think you'd really like Prada L'Eau Ambrée but I remember saying that to you once before so perhaps you've had a whiff of it already and not liked it all that much...?

They started the hammer drilling today, I turned the ventilation off and hit the road (couldn't stay in one room all day with no ventilation) and that's what I'll be doing from now on for as long as they're at it. I'm a wreck already:'( Nice to see the morning sun, though. In spirit I'm a morning person but my body is like a... teenager... ha ha... but I'd better go to bed now, nitie nite biddies and hippie.
Evening chooks
I have a man in the house again :) A very tired one but at least he's home, flaked out in bed as he's still a bit wobbly ..What a day .That hospital is like Clapham Junction at times .
I'm really grateful for sons and brothers or I couldn't have coped .

He seems to be managing a bit better now and the district nurse is coming tomorrow and the stoma nurse will come during the week as well. He can only eat small stodgy meals so his wobbling round the fridge and pantry was to no avail :)
He's till got a catheter though and will have to see a Urologist in the next week or two.
I hope it's something and nothing if you know what I mean .
I'm whacked out so am off to bed shortly .Just having buttered biscuits with loads of Kerrygold and jam and a cup of Rooibus . The jam is for my nerves :))
Hope you are all well especially Mr Woofy .
Love to you all and sweet dreams xx

That's a bloomin nuisance for you Kit, hope they hurry up and get it done...not tried the Prada perfume yet but I see Boots sell it so next time I'm in a big branch I'll have a squirt.

Lottie still no mail, are you sending/receiving to other people ok? My puta's not liking your mail is it? I'm thinking your last one must have sneaked in during the brief time that T had removed my old anti-v & installing the new one.

Nite all xx
Question Author
oh shaney you sneaked in...I'm so pleased Mr s' is home, I'm sure he'll feel better for it. Don't wear yourself out though. Have a peaceful night, and don't worry, one day at a time. xxx
Lovely news Shaney. Take each day as it comes! He will be fine - I promise xxxxx

Robi, I have been receiving mails and have just sent two to myself at my two other email addresses which went through just fine. :o(
Absolutely favourite perfume now is Armani Code. I just love it to the exclusion of all others!!
Yay Shaney....now you look after yourself as well. Mr S is going to need you strong and positive.
My current fave perfumes are Inner Grace, Mimosa pour Moi and Un Jardin apres la Mousson but my all time fave is Joy...I have expensive tastes.
Morning all, well done mr s for getting home, that'll make you happier shaney, see it;s all getting good!

My sense of smell is very keen, I can smell things (ie gas) way before anyone else, and some things that my family can never smell.

Armani code is lovely on someone else, on me it's like tyre rubber! I do like CK1 and have bought although not worn as yet, Fcuk (I tink that's how it's spelt) I always smell lovely smells on other people but can never find it, sometimes I ask strangers what their perfume is, then I forget!! or ot's way too expensive for me. My room freshener is now brought out as a eau de cologne so that's alright then. I love lemony smells like O de lancome, and Eau Savage, men's aftershave suit me better (must be the tough leathery skin!) no that's a joke, my skin is very soft!
Kit, that is not the shape of Tulipan N*gro that I remember either, it's a straight stumpy stick, but that's all I could find on tinternet!
Good morning Biddy friends Lovely morning here with sun shining.
Shaney ~ so pleased Mr S is home. He will get better quicker now with you, I'm sure. I have a thought about you every day and wish you both well.
My perfume is CK Obsession. I had a back handed compliment a little while ago when I met a young woman I used to work with quite a long time ago. After our hug and 'how are yous' she said 'you still smell the same'. We had a laugh about that but I knew what she meant, well I think I did.
I have some Secret Obsession that Teabag bought me ages ago but never use it. It's a bit to 'sweet' for me.
I'm still having a problem sitting down but things are improving. That info is for anyone who understood my post about my latest ailment. :~)
Hope Mr W is still improving Woofy and anybody else with aches and pains. Get well soon.

Off to Tai Chi in a bit. Better get cracking.
See yer later 'gater(s) x
Poor jude, I suffer from heaps from time to time, but when they affect my sitting down, I just poke them back up, sorry to be so crude, but it helps ease the discomfort!

Morning all...my legs grew back overnight, whaddya think?
http://www.findcoolcl...os/fishnetthighhi.jpg

Lottie I think I've found the problem, I went to the tiscali page & there's this notice...
"Some of our users are experiencing delays in receiving their emails. Please bear with us as our engineers fix this problem. Thank you for your patience."
So maybe they will arrive eventually, I'll let you know. I am getting some mail but now I'm wondering what else I'm missing. If anyone mails me please say on here.
S'pose we'd better start 'house hunting'....any offers?

Bright 'n breezy here, 7C atm :o(
Stockholm - up to 9C and rain...don't shoot the messenger Kit but you've got the white stuff on Thurs/Fri, sorry. Apparently we might have some too...aaaggghhh!
Robbie, I sent you a link for a new home a while back, about a month ago I think, I'll have a swift look, but it ain't much use sending it again with your present situation. It was a cupboard I think!!
Neti, a perfume that you would like if you like men's after shave smells (I do too) and citrus is this

It is amazing

http://www.burrenperf...oducts/manofaran.html

Discovered it when visiting the Burren perfumery and bought it for Vik, who also liked it. However, I was the one that used it. In fact, I am now going to treat myself.
