A friend (who has been a veg grower for years) has had a crop of potatoes that are semi-transparent & too hard to eat after cooking whether boiled or slow roasted.
Any ideas as to what the reason might be? he doesn't remember the variety name, they weren't his usual choice. Thanks.

*joins in beating neti to a pulp* ha ha at "TWO £$%^&*# degrees centigrade" Robi, that's the kind of profanities I grew up with - in Duckburg, lol...! I too still sort of see those hieroglyphs all around in the air when somebody blows:)

Ooh I adore those boots Woofy. That's very much the kind of thing I wore before my feet started hurting. I would never dare to order clothes or shoes on the internet, hell I can't even do live shopping without returning half of what I bought. << That's how you know you're a shopoholic, I once read, but in my case it's more that I'm overweight and often feel I have to buy a garment cos you have to wear something don't you, rather than because I like it, and then when I get home I just can't stand that sweater or whatever that I never did like in the first place. The other day I bought a cardig- ... no, I'll tell that story later, as part II, this post is already long.

Hadn't heard that new Take That. I do love Robbie William's voice, a lot. Here's a weird little tune, I like the stop motion https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwX7uEiEWx4
Kit, the pulp has turned on Robinia and is now thwacking her, so you are too late!

woofy lookinhg at those boots again, yes I could walk on those heels, maybe not everyday to the village and back, but the good thing is that they would stay on my feet as I have very high insteps and "pumps" flop off at the heel. They do look very nice, are they purple to go with the trousers, would look good!

Have been out for lunch, I had no alcohol and grilled veg with brie, and poached salmon in a pepper sauce, I do not usually like salmon but this was delightful.

There is another school reunion this after and I popped down, but the beach bar was heaving with end of season tourists and freeloading locals and I couldn't be bothered to look out for any of the school lot, very much doubt if any of my reprobates would even know about it and I certainly wouldn't have recognised them! Am in my bedroom watching "Brassed off" as I love anything Northern! Have had a cuppa and a slice of Keylime pie, (yes she's been at it again!)
yes, deffo going out for best boots but they do look cute. oooooh key lime pie...I used to have a recipe from sainsburys that was dead easy....must see if I still have it.
woofy, if my hija can make one, it has to be easy!!! The hardest thing was getting my new processor to work to crumble the biscuits!!! Load of faffing about, almost brought the old machine back in from the shed!!
oh thats the easy bit...place biscuit in strong placcy bag, take rolling pin or other blunt instrument, take out frustrations on biscuits.
Hi all
You are all so lovely .I love all the clothes and boots etc. At the moment I live in black trews and the first top that I can grab from the wardrobe and a jacket of some sort !

Mr.S may be allowed home tomorrow but there is another operation in the offing for his prostate .
He's very weák and not coping well with the stoma thing .He seems to be thinner now than when he went into hospital . His limbs are like sticks .It's all a bit upsetting and I won't bore you with it .
Take care everyone.love you all lots .I'm sorry I'm not good company at the moment xxx
Oh poor shaney, glad you popped in. Well of course he's not coping yet, he'll learn to live with it and he'll put on weight in a while, he's had a very serious op. This is his nadir, he'll buck up soon, and of course you are upset. It'll sort itself out, dear shaney. I would say don't worry, but of course you will! xx

Yes woofy, that's a good idea, smashing the biccies in a bag, will tell her to do that next time.
Oh Shaney, Neti is right. Mr S has had a major op and hasn't been eating. He is bound to be weak and thinner and he will get used to the Stoma. Perhaps he will perk up when he comes come - let's keep our fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Bless you both - love you too Shaney!! We all do. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

(I know it's not easy, but if you want a chat or even want to scream down the phone, please feel free)
the other thing Shaney that will make him look thinner is that he may not be holding as much liquid. This is the worst time..I know you will worry cos I did and still am. Be brave, keep your chin up. The stoma will be a bit of a challenge...but you and he WILL cope with it.
Hello Everybiddy. Hope you've had a good day.
Shaney, please don't ever think you are boring us. Say whatever you want and get it off your chest. Like Lottie says we are all here for you and love you.
I had a look at the Evans site Lottie but they wanted £4. postage so I thought I might see if they have one in Westfield. Do you know Robi, I can't remember?
I'll give you a hand thwacking Neti. 20 degrees indeed and socks! whatever next.
I daren't tell you what I've got now. Let's just say a posh name for it would be 'a heap' :o)
Had a nice walk this afto with Fuschia Not all that far but enough to blow the cobwebs away It's been lovely and sunny. I started painting my fence then gave up and rang Mr Oddjob who is coming to do it on Wed. for me. I'm such a wuss!
I have no idea what is happening with my 'puta', I save this page to my desktop and then when I clilck on it it opens up but at about page 24. Anybody any ideas.
Off for my usual cuppa and to have another go at the Sunday Express Skeleton Crossword which is defeating me this week.
Bye for now xx
It's 19.25 and almost dark, and am sitting on bed in proper pj's for the first time since April and my lully keep warm socks, desperately trying not to think of the crumpets in the freezer, ooh dripping with Tulipan (a delicious margarine). Oooooooooooooohhh!
Am in kitchen toasting the crumpets!!
crumpets in mouth.....................
crumpets gone :-(

onto the marshmallows now :-)

Well try this for size neti!
http://img138.imagesh...g138/9471/neti2sk.jpg
and if you come in tomorrow spouting about your 20C I'll put you in a strong placcy bag and hit you with a rolling pin!...

That's one weird video Kit, someone's got a vivid imagination but it's a great song....

Oh shaney, don't despair...I agree with all that's been said, it's been a big thing to cope with, physically and emotionally. Mr s will catch up weight-wise, don't worry too much about the way he looks. Get plenty of rest. xx

Jude - the link will reopen at the page you first saved it as unless you save it after each visit & delete the old link. I just have a link to the first page on my desktop, so I have to go to the end & sometimes back a page to start where I left off. Does any of that make sense? Evans says they're (still) on St Peter's St (opp old M&S)
One word for you Robi.........

crumbs!
Freeze, lady, and hand over that crumpet to the Bureau of... erm... Foreign... erm... Investigators! What ARE they, not cakes, not bread? Or some kind of bread, like scones? They look yummy on Google Image. Tulipan, don't know that one but I remember a Spanish deodorant from when we lived in Spain in the summers when I was a child, it was called Black Tulip and had a very strong scent. Is it still around, Neti? Probably not, I would probably be able to smell it from here if it were (but I liked it).

Dear Shaney, I can't imagine what it must be like seeing your ole man change in appearance and you know he's not feeling well. You're going to have to put your faith in Time - I imagine his doctors and nurses see this all the time and they too have been telling you he will be all right eventually. Still, would be lying if I said I didn't feel sorry for the both of you, just having to go through it. Still thinking about Mr Woofy and you, too, Woofy.

yeh, freeze lady...down to about minus 10C

Crumpets are stodgy, they make your teeth feel rough & sit in your stomach for hours...and there's no such thing as delicious margarine.
Tulipan is really lovely though Robinia! Honestly, it is. Why can't we get that over here in the UK.

Jude, seeing as I have to drive either 20 miles to Kings Lynn or 25+ miles to Norwich, and then pay for car parking and get back tired out, then. £4.00 postage is dead cheap for me!! The only time I shop for clothes in actual shops is when I meet my very dear friend Shaney for Norwich and she makes me spend money!! (and eat cake!!)

I like Morrisons Best crumpets they go sort of crispy on the outside - yummy!! And they are not stodgy like the cheaper ones, which are quite rubbery in my opinion.

Nighty night biddies. I had a shower at 5.30 and put my Kaftan over my nighshirt, so am ready for bed.
Good morning all. At 3.40 last night I had a message from my daughter asking me to collect her at 10.30 this am, frm her friend's house where she went for LUNCH honestly!!

Yes Kit Tulipan *** is the stick deodorant and I love the smell, can't wear it now as my skin is sensitive.

Yes Lottie it is a delicious margarine.

Morning to woofy and shaney, hope you are feeling a bit better today, both of you! xx
