those who have plaster casts removed, those who have had op and are now out of hossie,

there's been a spate of AB'ers recently and it was starting to get worrying

You all know who you are and I wish you well xx

To those who are still in, hope you are being looked after nicely

As for myself I said to Mrs retro yesterday I suddenly feel I have another 65 years ahead of me. I was striding out with a spring in my step and haven't felt so well for a while. I put it down to a very smart private nurse who ditched a load of medication I was on. She has actually won the approval of our GP as my BP is totally under control for the first time in about 15 years.
I hope that all other ABers will enjoy a rapid improvement as I have done.
I look towards the Kent coast occasionally and get blinded by a couple of twinkling eyes so I think someone else is doing alright for himself also. :-)
I was in a cast and then one of those awful airboot until 2 weeks ago due to a ruptured Achilles. Recovery seems to be quite slow even with the physio. To top it off I had bad diarrhoea on Sunday night, passing blood and allsorts. The doc diagnosed dysentery!! Antibiotics seem to have cleared it up so fingers crossed it isn't anything sinister.

Just to add. I'm glad you're improving Retro.
I wonder how baths is following her surgery ?

Hi, Alba.......I'm fine......walking brilliantly now thanks to you know who.... garden sort of finished but I make things to do.....don't suppose I'll stop now.

Hope all's well with you too....well apart from being green....xx

Hi Alba, doing ok, went for an hours walk this evening with Rog. bit ambitious as haven't started physio yet, well only with Tash' nothing official, that's next week. (Blood pressure keeps rising though ;o)
Thanks for asking.
Hi Alba. What a nice post. Had my eye op last Thursday and went back for a check up on Friday. Before the op I used to take a thyroid tablet in the morning and a statin at night plus steroid eye drops twice a day in each eye. Easy. Now I have three lots of eye drops, one lot twice a day, one lot every two hours and one lot four times a day. Oh and the four times a day have to be stored in the fridge but the others don't. I also have to continue with the steroid eye drops in the other eye as that one will be operated on later. The docs were not happy with the pressure behind my eye so gave me some tablet to reduce it and warned me that they might give me the runs. Oh boy were they right. Mr BD now lovingly calls me "shitferbrains" as all this is to reduce the pressure behind my eyes. The only way I can manage my medication now is by doing a chart and keep setting the alarm on my phone to remind me on the next shot. Feel sorry for anyone who is doing this on their own or who is too elderly to cope.

Glad to hear everyone else seems to be on the mend. Keep it up folks.
Hi alba, what a kind and thoughtful post!

I'm doing fine thanks, 10 days post-surgery. Had infection in wound but seems to be responding to antibiotics ;) Did too much too soon cos I felt so well, and paid for it :(

Got son here who is taking marvellous care of me. He's tackled the window-cleaning, mould removing etc that I let slip during the depression. Don't want him to go back to Swansea, ever!

Think he's had a word with Sgt Troy, cos he's not letting me bend to put stuff in oven! or carry any trays of food :)

Blimey Rocky, that sounds nasty. Was just gonna say I envy you the diarrhoea, but maybe not :(

Retro...good to see your improvement is continuing, as is Gness'.
Watch that BP Baldric

BakersDoz. I know what you mean about meds,..I have so many regular ones, plus some new occasional ones,...child is making me jot down when I take new ones.

He actually disapproves of FB , because as a Det Sarge he actually sees the carnage FB can cause, and doesn't really understand how this site is different, so I am mostly away from keyboard when he's here, lol :)

He should visit more often....
Hi Albs, thanks for this post, glad everyone so on the up. Retro that nurse must have magical powers. Lost my voice after course of antibiotics, some would say that's an improvement!
Baths, it was a bit extreme I can tell you. Not for the fainthearted.
Should have said he's not here right now as I've sent him to Matalan for storage basket to organise all my clutter, and have given him my debit card and PIN and told him to get something for himself.....!

Glad you posted that Baths. We do tend to see things from another perspective especially the grief that FB can cause. I tried to persuade my 30 yr old( then) younger son about potential grief. He assured us he was safe and smart and landed straight into a load of grief!!!
Very pleased you are on the mend and getting all help you require. Take it easy and get strong.
We must respect Mrs Os wishes but I wish we could have a hint with regards her progress. xxx
@Postie...yeah, you're right there ;)

@Retro, yep I agree,...a few words about Mrs O would be great :)

Are you suggesting my wife (private nurse) is a witch ? :-)
Thank goodness she retired several weeks ago after 40years full time nursing in many depts. with the NHS.
Old school nurse who ensures the patient is turned regularly etc etc. She takes my OBS every day at the moment and records them as well as weight. She decided my usual high BP was now too low so binned my medication and it has become stable for the first time in years. She reduced other meds and I haven't felt so well for ages.
Just good common sense nursing and knowledge of reactions and effects of drugs. Must get her an up to date BNP though. :-) xxx

Retro that nurse must have magical powers.
Glad to hear that in the main folk are recovering well - the rattling with pills , dripping of eye drops and wrestling with side effects is a necessary evil sometimes.

Bless you all - onwards and upwards.x
