Dtc's Day - Christ - Truro Cathedral Had Xmas Decorations On Sale!

Went in there for a rather interesting quilt exhibition of Cornish saints tied back to the parishes - some stunning work and that is going to tour the country.

However, couldn't help but notice that the Cathedral has a stall up for selling Christmas decs already! That, to me, is too early and somewhat out of order with the supposed annual Christian cycle..

Are any on sale near you? Reactions?

Mmmm, dunno DT ( about any being on sale yet in my neck of the woods ). But thanks for the reminder, I must get the sprouts ready I'ts almost time to get them on the cooker !.

I haven't seen any decs on sale yet. It's a bit naughty for the Cathedral to jump in first .....anyone would think they had presidence!

Well, to some extent, Baldric, but when a lot of the items were not baby related with rather an emphasis of fat red Americans and mingy pine trees, I have my doubts.

One Summer we once went to a garden centre here in the Midlands, it seemed a bit run down and dark inside. As we walked around we noticed there was a huge display of christmas items on sale and when we laughed and remarked how early it was to be selling them, the owner admitted he never ever put them away as it was too much bother for him to get them all out again the next year! Maybe we should try that at home .... would save a lot of time and effort :)

They've just swapped their shop out for a cafe, anne, and set up two stalls in one of the transepts.....

Ann that is one thing I hate to see, those icicle Christmas lights hanging from people's houses, like dirty washing all the year round.
