You could do once they've died back but you'd only have to plant them again the following Autumn. Best to leave them in the ground where they will probably naturalise and increase your stock of daffodils. Then you can dig them up and divide the clumps of daffs and spread them around your garden. If you are planning to pot up bulbs in pots make sure they are big enough to plant the bulbs deep enough otherwise you might just get green leaves and no flowers - ensure there is also plenty of drainage in the pots
Why not aim for a succession of bulbs...some crocus and snowdrops for february, some dwarf narcissi for march and then some tulips for april....all in the same pot.

Once they've finnished, plant them in a quiet part of the garden so they die down naturally or, like many people do, just throw them away and buy some new ones next autumn.
Use fresh bulbs in containers every year putting the old ones into the garden to die back otherwise your pots will be an eyesore. Change the top six inches of compost too the large alliums grow well in containers so do muscari and hyacinths if you want tulips stick to lower growing ones
