Can anyone give me a rough cost for installing an electric oven, please? It is just a single oven, not integrated, taking the old one out too.

Hmmmm! I wish. I bought a new electric oven from Curry's a few months back and it cost me £100 to have it fitted by one of their electritians, but I did get a cirtificate and gauranty of workmanship for 12 months. If you do have one fitted make sure he's qualified to do the job. You don't want any shocks...

That's because you went to Currys, and they have a fat bonus structure for sales personnel. Hymie's figure is more the mark.
The requirement is merely that a competent person does it - no special qualifications required. No more troublesome than changing a 13A plug really.
