rain down chimney

we live in the scottish highlands and get very heavy and lots of rain. how can I stop it falling down my chimney?

Have some ideas, also saw in lake district chimneys with what looked like 2slates in ^ shape on top of chimney
'Chimney caps' are widely available, like those here. Just enquire at your nearest builders merchant.
Is the chimney still in use??
Even if it is, you can still put a cowl on it.
Just make sure that the cowl is suitable for the type of fuel you have because if it is serving a gas appliance then the wrong flue terminal could be dangerous and it will be condembed...
