Hi zita as terracotta is fairly porous I'm not sure how good the end result would be. This site might be helpful. Scroll down to 'terracotta'

its hard to get it all off zita cos it just seeps down into the terracotta but a toothbrush and hot soapy water might do it

Soak them in water for a couple of days - this will soften the paint and allow you to scrape or scrub it off.
