I watched a dramatisation on the death of Admiral Nelson at The Battle Of Trafalgar, Dr. Beatty was the physician attending to him, if I remember correctly.
The show went on to explain that Dr. (or should it be Mr?) Beatty had been court marshalled for insubordination.
The line said "he wasup before Captain Bligh", what did this mean?
Was he court marshalled and subsequently cleared of insubordination to Captain Bligh, or, was he cleared by Captain Bligh for insubordination to A. N. Other?

Yes Dot, I have seen it, the first thing it taught me was to be very wary of buying property in Poland, the second thing it taught was the confliction in many people's minds that must exist.
If they lay claim to a property that was behind the iron curtain what is their stance on former Palestinian land behind the peace wall.
I assumed that the court marshall was conducted by Bligh rather than because of him, Bligh it would seem cleared him.
For all his faults Bligh's real problem was not that he was a bully, it's that he was not a gentleman.
