craft that will be why the Biddscombe family tree has the wrong birth date, the compiler perhaps did not realise 1841 ages were rounded down,
god you're good dot - I am a novice and learning all the time - the age differences used to drive me up the wall!!
oh cheers that's a lovely thing to say Craft! They can make a huge difference especially when you are looking for someone with a common name.
If you can find it, the book Making Use of The Census by Susan Lumas is brilliant, I bought it in 1990 and so it may not be in print, it is ISBN 1 873162 02 2 and a PRO Publication (though when it was in Chancery lane not Kew lol)
Thanks for that dot - have just bought a copy for 7.30 on ebay!!

Sorry Craft. The one you have fournd is not the John I want. He was born in 1764 married Jane Edge. He was the son of Peter Hough born 1733 . This info I got from Roots Web.
What I am trying to find is what happened to them. Where did they live and death date.

Sorry Craft this is not the John I am looking for. The John I want was born in1764 Osmaston Derby. Married Jane Edge 1791 in Derby. He was the son of Peter Hough born 1733 Chaddesden Deby. What I am trying to find is where did they go and when did they die
Yeeeees but the John on the 1841 census is the son of John and Jane.
You have a very limited number of places to find John's death, either in the Parish Register of Burials (probably Osmaston Parish Church) or the actual Grave, which may or may not have a stone . You should find out if the Monumental Inscriptions for the Parish Church have been recorded and published, probably by the local Family History Society.

scroll down to the parish records section
I would just like to say to dot and craft how gob smacked I am that you're spending so much time and research to help out ironmonger. You're a credit to AB
Seems Craft has helped you with everything I have also found ...... know what you mean with it getting confusing when you have lots of the same name coming up. Good luck in unravelling it all.
