It was said on the news this morning, that unemployment had risen in the UK.
Blackburn has been a DJ since Noah was a lad....would it help those unemployment figures if he retired ?

( above post meant TIC ! )

Just when you thought it was safe to listen to the Beeb.
Fabulous!

TB is a national treasure in the true sense of the word, and I welcome his return.

But - are we going to hear from the BBC about why they sacked him, and equally why they are reinstating him?

Mr Blackburn has had the grace not to traduce the organisation - which it seriously deserves - for the dreadful way in which he has been treated - but I think the liocence payers dserve to know what is being done in their name in terms of Mr Blackburn's return.

If he was 'guilty' enough to be sacked, why is he now 'innocent' enough to return?

Apart from the passage of time, what has actually changed?
I for one am glad he is returning
I'm not
I suspect the BBC owe him for a post-Savile muddle - he seems to have misled an inquiry but it remains his word against someone else's since the BBC lost the files (I think I've got all that right). He's the very model of Smashey and Nicey and while I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to him I'd never switch him off.
Good grief... perhaps DLT will be back too hosting CBeebies Storytime...
pffft, there must be plenty of 40-year-old hipsters snags can listen to
Desmond Carrington is about to retire from Radio 2, and he is 90.

Tony Blackburn is just a whippersnapper.
''pffft''

Is that the sound of Tony B opening a can of whoop-ass on Radio 1 boss Ben Cooper?
sorry, that was me
Air biscuit?
a seedy one
So glad he is coming back. Feel he was treated rather shabbily by the Beeb. He has certainly aged if the latest photo is anything to go by.
I'm glad he's coming back to replace Desmond. A youngster just wouldn't fit in to this programme.
You know it's a slow news day when this story pops up as Breaking News on the BBC website....

TB has a massive fan base who were outraged at his disgraceful treatment by the BBC.

I am sure Mr Blackburn, like Mr Gambuccini, will return with grace and professionalism - two aspects of behaviour denied them by their employer.
Well said andy-hughes
Ok andy, don't go all Rita Hayworth about it, I pointed out it's a slow news day, I don't cast any aspersions on said DJ!
Rita Hayworth - ?
