I came across it while googling, 'eye cup'. While it's not one you'd use often it's good to have it in reserve and, fingers crossed, It'll be given an outing soon..

Lovely word Sandy, even if it doesn't trip off the tongue very easily. Had to look up the phonetic pronunciation.

Thanks sandy...I am always looking for a new word, to drop into conversations !

Here is one of my favourites from last year ::: onomatopoeic !

Slubberdegullion is my freakish word of the day today- and if you like obsolete or weird and wonderful words check out this site- I look often and confound people I don't like ;-)

Oftentimes the usance of unconventional or sesquipedalian verbiage is a manifestation not of linguistic erudition but of supercilious pomposity.
Ditto!
that's strange jim360 i said the very same thing the other day
Peripatetic
Floccinaucinihilipilification
Jim...I can't possibly say all that with my teeth in !
That's easy for you to say!
nowt to do with erudition, it sounds nice, like what sandyRoe said
scorpiojo...I wish I had known that word while I was posting on the newspaper thread ...seems to fit The Sun perfectly !
Brinjal...when I was a little boy in the 60's, I had an Aunt back who was a Peripatetic Music Teacher...I never knew what it meant though !
I'm saying nothing, mikey :)
funnily enough, we were discussing the merits of a word today, Bu**er. very descriptive in some situation. :)
Butter, Anne?
I was having a we earned break with staff yesterday when one of the young females came towards with her phone saying, "Do you want to see my clematis" I nearly choked on my coffee!!!
Most of these words have way to many letters in them, all my favorite word only contain four.
*well earned
oh heck, i'll live dangerously..................buffer !!!!!
