I am looking to trace the ancestry of following person:-

Cornelis (or Kornelis) Veenhuis. Born on 7.5.1918 in Haren, Gronigen, Netherlands. His father's name was Albertus Veenhuis.

Can anyone locate a website which will enable me to find his ancestors.

Enter stamboom zoeken nederland into your search engine. You will get a long list of websites that are connected with genealogical research in the Netherlands. I have just done this, and have seen the list. I don't know if any of the websites have an English page, but if you put your request in English you should be OK.

Thanks bookbinder, I'll give it a go.
Fingers crossed, then. If you think that I could help with anything else on this topic, post it here. I can speak some Dutch.

No luck so far bookbinder. If I do find something, I may take you up on your offer as I speak no Dutch.
did he die in this country in 1988?
was his mother Johanna Elizabeth Schlichte and his father albertus gerardus venhuis? sisters susanna and maria? father was Geradus venhuis and his mother Susanna Oude Steenhof. Albertus married Johanna 24 Nov 1916 in Winterswijk
Geradus was the son of Albertus Venhuis and Janna oude Toenink and he married Susanna Steenof 1 july 1887 in Denekamp, susanna was the daughter of Albertius oude steenof and Gezina Keupink.

to find out even more you need to go to
https://www.wiewaswie.nl/
sorry that's not that clear, Albertus Veenhuis, father of cornelius was the son of gerardus and susanna.
Janna and Albertus married 22 apr 1854 at Tubbergen and she was the daughter of Gerardus oude toenink and janna snijders, albertus was the son of Gezina Venhuis, his mother, the marriage entry reads father unknown. Gezina did marry a Gerardus Oude Rengerink but after her illegitimate son Albertus was born
Geradus Veenhuis who married susanna in 1887 had a cousin Kornelis who married in Haren in 1882, his father was Marten Veenhuis, brother to said Geradus
sorry, these are really confusing names, marten must have been the brother of albertus, the illegitimate son of Gezina, but that's not definite, I've lost track!
All double Dutch to me dotty !

site translated!

it's very confusing when they use all the same first names!
You would clearly be happier, BradleyGas, with an English-language website. If you enter
tracing family hstory in the Netherlands
and/or
family history center Netherlands [center is really spelt like that]
into your search box, you will see lists of suitable websites, all in English.
the online site https://www.wiewaswie.nl/ translates to any language with just one click and then it's plain sailing
Question Author
Thanks for all this. DJ Hawkes, how on https://www.wiewaswie.nl/ do I translate it to English - I can't manage it somehow.

Looks promising, main reason seems to be Veenhuis is spelt Venhuis here! Its likely you've found his parents, all I know is his father was Albertus and Cornelis was born in Haren, Groningen. If I can prove the link, I think its cracked!
I think the link will be the names he gave his children in england?
just click to translate the web page at the top on the blue car, it doesn;t seem to work at first
*bar,
when i click your copy of the webpage it loads and then about 3 seconds later reloads in english
Question Author
Sorry if this is really obvious, but what do you mean by "blue car". Whatever I do, I can't get it in English. Although I can work it out in the main, English is better.
blue bar, dot corrected it
Question Author
Afraid clicking on the blue bar does nothing. Double clicking just reduces the page size. Will have to manage in Dutch.

As for the link DJHawkes, my Cornelis had one son, Albertus, which fits. However, no daughter called Johanna. Also, Winterswijk is over 200KM from Haren. I'll ask Cornelis' descendents if they know anything of his parents. Alternatively, a website to show Albertus + Johanna's other children, may prove the link with Haren

Thanks all for your assistance, much appreciated.
