Craft I didn't know,I just went into search for something and 1911 census came up.I got a surprise when it showed up.
It's not quite complete yet.......they are slowly uploading the counties.

Somerset wasn't there last time I looked......
Ah great, that may rekindle my interest again with any luck.
Great news although its not complete yet. Means I dont have to pay out for FMP too at next renewal. Having said that, I have sometimes found things on FMP that I havnt been able to find on Ancestry. So now Im torn :>( ??
TOH I shell out to ancestry, the genealogist, and FMP...............at least one of them has got to go!
I'm confused, I was using the 1911 census on ancestry months ago. well before the summer I'm sure!
ahh I know what you mean, they've added the surname index search, I was just using the actual Districts and scrolling through to locate the folo I needed. It's always easier with an index I suppose!
Yes 1st July 1911 full photographed returns were added but they hadn't done the indexing.

I took a look over the weekend and was disappointed to find I could not spot my grandparent in the 1911 census.

Ancestry seems to have changed in looks over time and not necessarily for the better / more convenient. Does anyone know if they say anywhere how much they've indexed, and when they expect to be done ?
Old Geezer. I dont think it says anywhere when it will be complete. If you want a look up for you gparents, let me have details and I will do my best on FMP
Thank you very much for the offer, but I think I'll wait until I can browse them myself. It's part of the fun ;-)
