Not quite sure where to post this. Overheard in the paper shop this morning....."my son got the red ring of death over the weekend and he's inconsolable" What on earth does this mean? Is it contagious? Should I be worried?
it will probably play some games, but not stuff lile Bops my son reckons, he has 2 x box, one that has the dreaded red ring which still works for some games and the new one he uses for xboxlive

It's a ring of lights, that turn red ... although it's more like a vain attempt to be as good as PC gamers that always experienced the Blue Screen of Death back in the 80's.
There used to be something called ringworm when I was a child which appeared on your skin like a red ring. I thought it was that come back, until I read the replies. Don't hear about it now, so I don't know whether it is still there or has become extinct.
