Hi,
Problem over last few weeks, my computer keeps going off and then rebooting itself. I get a message from MS saying it has recovered from a critical problem. Any ideas how I can find the source of the problem.

Thx

Have you installed anything new recently...game, application, downloaded anything from the internet?

Yes, quite a few things but I thought my Firewall would keep it safe, also Anti Virus
Does it do this all the time or only after a certain time?
Check what is starting up by using msconfig....if you have XP (not sure about Vista).
From the Start menu, select run and then type in msconfig. Select the startup tab.
Make a note of what is starting up (it's ticked) and search the Internet for each item.
If it's reported as suspect, untick it so it does not start up. Trial and error.
