line a cup with cling film allowing lots of overlap and crack your egg into it. twist the top to seal it or use a plastic bag clip and then drop the bundle into boiling/simmering water. a large egg may take up to 4 minutes but the result is absolutely fool-proof and a totally perfect poached egg.
i used to do the frying pan of water method but this beats it hands...

Drop them in a pan if boiling water.

if you want a lovely shape, then rip off a piece of clingfilm, and gently drop your egg onto it. Bring the film up and twist, making a lovely ball shape, and drop into the water. It comes off easy peasy once cooked.
Add a small amount of vinegar (table spoon) to the boiling water, this will prevent the egg breaking up

I bring some salted water up to simmering point in a small frying pan - about an inch and a half.
Carefully crack the egg(s) in to the pan, put a lid on it and don't let it boil. Should be done in a few minutes.
Bring a pan of water to the boil, add a drop of vinegar to the water, now, turn down the heat by half, get a spoon and stir the water up to make a 'whirlpool' and launch your egg off a saucer into the 'eye' of the whirlpool in the centre. doing this help the white wrap around the yolk and cook better.
All of the above are on here..some comments made me laugh http://www.b3ta.com/features/howtopoachanegg/
