Garlic Cauliflower

2 tablespoons minced garlic
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 large head cauliflower, separated into florets
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
salt and black pepper to taste
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Metric:
15 g minced garlic
45 ml olive oil
1 large head cauliflower, separated into florets
35 g grated Parmesan cheese
salt and black pepper to taste
4 g chopped fresh parsley

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (220 degrees C). Grease a large casserole dish.
Place the olive oil and garlic in a large resealable bag. Add cauliflower, and shake to mix (or you can mix it up in a bowl instead of a bag). Pour into the prepared casserole dish.
Bake for 25 minutes, stirring halfway through.
Top with Parmesan cheese and parsley, and broil for 3 to 5 minutes, until golden brown.

thanks for that bbwchatt I made that tonight and it went down a treat
Tom - you are a sweetie for letting me know!!! I am glad you enjoyed it.

That easy little recipe will work with just about any vegetable - zucchini or any type of squash, broccoli, asparagus, potatoes, etc.
easy peasy cauliflower cheesy:

steam cauli till cooked
gently heat a tub of creme fresh
melt in two handfuls grated cheese
pour over cauli

delish!
I add a little friend onion and chopped bacon - makes it really nice.
I add chunks of potato sometimes - it makes it a lot more filling.

Crush a packet of cheese and onion crisps and mix with grated cheese and sprinkle over the top before baking. Lovely!

Also, instead of a traditional cheese sauce, try using fromage frais, with a little veg or chicken stock powder stirred in and some fresh herbs.
The answer to altering the flavour of any traditional dish is to add something different. Add alittle chili to spice something up. Add a little curry powder to increase the heat. The real answer however is to try a little bit for yourself! Do something on a small scale and try it, before poisoning your family all at once! The real outcome is, it will be different from the usual boring stuff!! Give it a go next time!
