I always make mine from scratch but the Daughter asked me to get her a ready made Jar yesterday. I got the new Jamie Oliver Tomato & Basil one from the Co-Op, it's on offer at £1. I'm just eating it now and it's really lovely. Best from a jar by far

(just thought I'd share)

I've always been put off buying sauces in a jar but I will buy this one. I've not tried the seeds of change one woof, so can't say. the ones I have tried have been artificial tasting but this one is lovely and fresh with fresh basil....I might get that for the Daughter fluff. I'm going to M&S on Friday weather permittin
I like the Lloyd Grossman pasta sauces, my favourite is the chilli one.

Hi CD Try the Jamie Oliver one I think its much better and It's only a £1 at the moment...Yum with meatballs...Right I now need a cuppa
Sometimes you can't beat a jar...

My daughter was telling her BF what a great cook I was. When she came over for a visit she had a list of meals she wanted me to cook. Spag bog was one of them...it's the first time she noticed I used a jar...she was gutted.

lol ummmm. I always make my own sauce now as previously I had been so disappointed with the jar stuff...but this well, It's nearly as good as mine ;o)
I usually cook from scratch so that was why she was shocked I used a jar. Spag bog was a meal I cooked when short of time....I did add loads of extras with it though.

Funny though...especially when she said she'd get the recipe...

Yeah...that would be Dolmio :-)

Does anyone else get fed up (excuse the pun) of thinking of "what's for dinner" ?
Every single fecking day....!!!

Drives me nuts ummmm. I go to the Co-Op every morning at 7.30 and have to think about what's for lunch and what's for dinner Grrrrrrrrrrrr And I have the fussiest of husbands, wont eat chicken, doesn't much like pasta, wont eat white fish anymore...
we have a brief conversation most mornings about what's for dinner just so's i can get whatever out of the freezer and then forget about it until 5pm. makes life easier. used to do a weekly 'menu' when the kids were at home for the same reason. saturday was always a special meal, and still is really, make a bit more of an effort.
I get fed up too of thinking what to have for dinner.

When I ask my sons, they always reply I don't mind what it is, but when you actually cook something, it is never what they want!!!!!

Been there as well funnygirl. My two were nightmares, Son always said the same as yours and then you could tell by the look on his face he wasn't impressed. My Daughter was a veggie for most of her teens years but wouldn't eat vegetables

My boys, thank God, eat whatever I put in front of them.

Tonight I don't care what they eat. I've just cooked a tuna steak, medium rare, delish...I can't think about food when I'm not hungry...
