I shall have

The soup

Spatcthcock chicken

and Trifle

Plus I shall bring a bottle!

See you later.
Nice to see you mercia. I totally agree with you. The people that moan don't have to read these posts.

Salmon pate, spatchcock chicken and cheesecake for me please. At least you give me some ideas for cooking something different.
I agree. It's like that aeronautical engineering. It's not rocket science. Or ... erm ...

Anyway ...

Felafel ? Yes, okay ... those sound nice.

Spatchcock ... yep, yummy.

And the cheeses.

=0)
Any wines on offer?

The cheeses seem to be drawing my attention. The smoked salmon pate sounds good too though. If I could take a bottle of wine and a plate of cheese, crackers and pate and retire to the library (I assume you have a Library on the grounds Mercia?) my evening would be set.

Fluffy - I only went as a spectator - My brother (who runs the farm in Devon) and his wife have just had another baby last month, and so we dicided not to do the cooking beef/pork promtion. they just showed the stock animals (and won a prize, 2nd place for the aberdeen Angus black)
ahhhhhh, did you see my pig yesterday he won first prize for the biggest balls in the world...

not my pig obviously...

and i tired some weird named beef, that was nice but i can;t remember the name it sounded german i think
I will have the soup, the veggie pasta bake and I'm really struggling to decided which pud to go for....think it will be the cheesecake, although would love a cheeky spoonful of the Caramel fudge sponge just to get a taster! x

I didn't get around as much as I'd have liked, my hips were playing me up, (I have chronic arthritis since my car accident) and I kept on getting stopped by people who knew me wanted to talk about why we weren't doing the cooking! (we knew last year when the decision had to be made and deposites made that Kaz (my sis in law) would have had the baby, she'd just found out she was pregnant the baby was due 28 march, came on the scene 2nd april. The only foods i got to taste were clotted cream, ice cream and some honey (I don't like sweet things either!!)

Sorry Jan1957 - I meant to reply to you earlier, thanks for your kind words, here and on the other post!! This was my aim, to help people think or try something different instead of the same old same old! It's easy to get into a rut and 'make do', and it's nice to try something different!
Well, you're right there St. Merciasounds, its definitely NOT rocket science!
