anything green, raw and knicked from my parents garden. runner beans or peas especially! x
Just about all veggies actually - though have never been impressed much by turnips! Love sprouts, parsnips, broad and runner beans - eagerly watching the latter 2 coming on in the garden now. Thank goodness for the rain this week. Also adore onions of any description. Pity I wasted years in my early childhood trying to avoid green veg - what a shame!!
I like most vegetables, except asparagus - cos it smells funny
mushrooms are my fave Mmmmmm but sweetcorn is always good you could try using the 'you are what you eat' like the advert, so runner beans make you a good runner, and french fries make you french? whats this then? a ***? .....mmm
What are you doing to the asparagus lardy - love it. Chop it up raw and add to salads, eat it cooked in butter or sometimes put the cooked asparagus on a plate, cover it with a superb cheese sauce and flash it under the grill until the cheese starts to blacken - eat with a hunk of good home cooked bread. Phwoar
as for kids, i always gave my son what we were eating and made it clear if he didn't eat it, he would go hungry and definately not get anything else or pudding. now, at 16 he is a human dustbin. even eats sprouts. i think picky eaters are mostly made by parents (except in some cases where there is a clear problem e.g. phobia or illness). sometimes ingenuity is required i.e. homemade veggie burgers or hiding the vegetable substance, but then telling them what they have eaten when they enjoy the meal helps to change their perspectives too x
my last post was meant to say f@ggot, jeez cant even mention a food nowadays
I'll give OH your recipe for the asparagus ttfn - may be he'll try it some time!
4get - omg i loved those. haven't had them for years as mr kicker does not regard them as food! also, was my dad's nickname for me when i was a child - am now 34 and female! go figure...x
Fresh peas.
I'm trying to think of a veg I don't like.....
marrow eeeeeeeeeuuuugh yuk
I like all vegetables even fennel, but I'm not that keen on spinach when its mashed up.
When we were first married MrAsk only ate peas. Now he'll eat most veg except broccolli and asparagus. My granddaughter loves me to do swede and carrot mash when she comes to visit.
fennel cooked in dry martini - loverly
My mum used to make stuffed marrow which I remember was a bit revolting

Aubergines !
We used to have a good white sauce on the marrow to liven it up a bit (well - quite a lot really). If my father made the sauce it was called bill poster's paste!
I don't like celery....yeah, Found something I don't like...
I hate celery, swede, beetroot, radishes and anything that's overcooked.
