Almond Beach Barbados

Has anyway been to the Almond Beach resort in Barbados. We want to go there at the end of November 2005 but have heard conflicting reports.

We want to stay in a superior deluxe room and have heard that these have been renovated. We are taking our 8 year old daughter with us.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the sister hotel on the West Coast, Almond beach club and spa. Firstly you should be aware that the star rating on Barbados hotels are slightly different to ours (UK). It was dubed as a 4+ rating but i would say it was about 3 star. The rooms were pokey and bathrooms were small. The pictures made it to look huge, but in fact it wasnt. The food was superb and people there were v. helpful. There a few exceptionson the star rating, eg Tamerind Cove is a 5 star, Sandy Lane is probably a 7 star.
