Thai sticky rice

Has anyone here used the microwave method to cook this rice? How did you do it and how did it turn out? Thanks.

thereare many types of rice, i think the one you are looking for is Japanese type of rice that makes the rice sticky and yummy. once i find out the name i let you know, i think it begins with G ...

Hi WhiteBear,
Thank you for your quick reply! I have a bag of the rice (glutinous rice) and did it in the steamer - it turned out ok but i have heard that the results from the microwave are slightly stickier and was really wondering whether this is the common consensus plus not really sure of how much water to rice i should use etc. If anyone has any success doing it this way then please let me know.
