I would like to cook an impressive 3 course dinner for a lady friend and need ideas. Perhaps smoked salmon as a starter. The thing is that Im not very good with my presentation skills so how would I decorate it and what would I add to the salmon?
A simple desert I thinking of is layer of honey at the bottom, then fill glass with greek yogurt and top it with crunchy muesli.

What was wrong with the recipes we gave you on 15 March? Go to bbcgoodfood.com and you can search recipes by ingredients and they rate how easy they are make. My salmon recipe is so easy and very tasty - it was a Sainsbury's one if you want to try and find it.

I only got 4 responses the other day, thats why Im reposting, to get more suggestions.
Most supermarkets do pretty little parcels of smoked salmon with cream cheese inside, which would look great, and all you have to do is take it out of the wrapper, and put on a plate with some salad garnish, and maybe some melba toast.
Do something that's simple for your main, but that looks quite nice. Maybe chicken breasts wrapped in parma ham or bacon, perhaps with a bit of mozarella slipped in between the chicken and ham, and a sprig of basil or sage.
Your pud sounds spot on, but make sure your other courses don't fill her up first!!

love the dessert - as a breakfast !

go for healthy, a tropical fruit salad get some crushed ice (basically buy bag of ice and chuck it about a bit) put on a tray then slice your fruit and arrange on the ice, it looks great but dead easy. unhealthy got to be the chocolate pud.

All you need with smoked salmon is to put it on a plate with a wedge of lemon and some really nice bread from the supermarket (crusty multigrain or something a bit posher from the bakery!) With great quality ingredients you don't need to stress yourself over making it look too pretty - the food will speak for itself. Or alternatively slice some mozarella cheese and beef tomatoes, lay on a serving plate with some fresh basil leaves and drizzle a small amount of olive oil over - serve with crusty bread.

For dessert why not make Eton mess - whip some cream (woo hoo!) and just before serving add some crushed meringues (which you can buy ready-made from the supermarket) and some crushed fresh raspberries - pile into tall glasses (or wine glasses). Tastes great, looks sexy and should get you a fourth course no problem!
