I recently had a peri anal abscess which had to be lanced and drained in hospital. I now have a boil in my nostril which is really painful. Could these be related????

Diabetics are sometimes prone to these for some reason so get that checked out. boil in nose could be an ingrowing hair to which is no doubt what caused your other one. Very unfortunate!!
Probably not related, but very good friends I expect.

lol its my name and my year of birth!!
when you have one boil you tend too get others, if more appear antibiotics may be needed, also try some "piles" cream on them, it works honestly
probably not related, I had several of these abscesses at the very inner top of my leg, and ended up being hospitalised twice - it was only after the second time when I spent about 9 months bleeding/weeping and went back to the Doctor (I know I should have gone earlier, but ....) , it turned out to be a SInus/fistula which I eventually had to have cut out - theres no scientific or medical reason apparently, but if you have one, you do tend to be more prone to recurrences, so worth keeping an eye on it if you get the "twinge" again.
