Does anyone else remember those 'Draughtpack' containers you used to be able to buy in pubs in the '80s?

There were two types, one that looked like a big glass that held four pints of beer or lager and one that looked like a cider flagon which you filled with cider.

Can you still get them anywhere?

(Continuance of question). We regularly used to buy them after a night out to take home to my bro-in-law's to continue drinking (whilst listening to Radio Luxembourg) but you could never drink right to the end coz the beer was just too flat or you would fall asleep!

I was only reminded of this due to xyzzy's question about pennies in a jar coz I used to save 20p pieces in one and by the time it was full there was hundreds of pounds in it. (Never got that far!)

Can anyone else give examples of any pub memorabilia?

Remember the 'party four' and 'party seven' beer cans. Even further back I remember when the dart board segments were made of plasticine which had to be warmed and rolled into the coloured segments. The numbers were all on one removeable ring that could be turned during a game when one area of the board was getting worn too much. Wooden beer barrels that had to be 'tapped'. Sawdust on floors. Barbers shops in pubs. Stables beside pubs. Ploughmans lunches with real bread, cheese and pickles (not todays synthetic stuff). Crisps with little blue packets of salt inside. Prompt service with a smile. No gassy lager.
I remember that funny thing called an oversized glass so if you wanted a head on your pint the bar staff pulled the beer up to a mark about half an inch below the rim, nowadays the pint mark is the rim.The black stuff excluded
I can remenber when you could get 20 fags and a pint of Watney's Red Barrel for 40p

I can remember my dad bringing home some party sevens for a party and me gasping at the size of them!!! Did they have some sort of ring-pull opening or what? I can also remember eating those bags of crisps outside the pub mikewall, I was only a ickle kid then!

Andjac, where do you live? Coz where I live we still have pints as God intended with a head on! Luverly!!!

Twenty fags and a pint for 40p! What would that cost now?

When I first went into a pub (to booze) I'm sure you could get two and a half pints for a quid. Okay I was underage but I could get well and truly slaughtered for much less than a fiver and still have nuts and crisps... Happy days.

I can remember when Charles and Di got hitched. The pub me and my mates used to go in at the time opened at 5:30 and for the first two hours they were selling pints for 5p!

I set off (intending to go home) about 8:00pm and ended up hitching a lift on some kid's bike to the pub next to my house. When I got in the pub there was a full spread of free grub which it would have been rude not to eat of... What a great night that was!
