The best thing is water - an not ice cold. If it is very cold then the blood will flow more to your stomatch to counter the large temp drop and then your skin will get hotter. I drink water by the pint straight from the tap. In cold weather I hardly dink any water - yesterday between 4 and 9 I drank about -4-5 pints of tap water (I am 6ft 3 and 16.5 st)

thanks hamish, perhaps you have found the answer, all my drinks are ice cold ,almost a degree off freezing !! i will try drinking it from the tap instead
A teaspoonful of cider vinegar in a glass of water is the most thirst-quenching drink I know of. Something to do with balancing the electrolytes in the body. After a couple of mouthfuls, think about it, and you'll find you're no longer thirsty. Cleans the mouth beautifully as well. Must be cider vinegar.
Minty water does the trick for us, not too strong and water from the tap!
Dash of lemon and lime juice in water for me.

vodka on the rocks
