There are loads of interesting things to cook ...far too many to suggest in one post. Have a look at some websites .BBC is good.
Depends what you like to eat ..as it's supposed (lol) to be summer what about a nice Greek salad and some new potatoes boiled in their skins with a steak.
Tonight we are having stuffed belly pork braised with celery ,peppers, carrots and bacon with mashed potatoes.
If you go to work and have to cook when you come home it is hard to gather any enthusiam ..I know ..been there got the T shirt.. have a look here...http://thefoody.com/home.html
Also if you like stews ,casseroles etc ..invest in a slow cooker ....brilliant if you are out all day.

yeah exactly my point i work all day and cant be bothered to cook something really spectacular so thanks for the website matey!
I am a hopeless cook, so i stick to dead easy things -

smoked bacon, grilled, with mashed potato and peas - onion sauce (packet of course!) optional.

grilled plaice in breadcrumbs with peas and brown bread & butter

cheese on toast - just for a change, followed by a chocolate bar of your choice and two cups of tea.
Oh yes ..Cheese on Toast....the ultimate comfort food !!
A great favourite with me..but not with this diet ! Please do not let Robinia see this post !!
Try Old El Paso Fajita kits...they are so easy and tasty! All you have to do is fry some chicken and veg, add spice mix and hey presto...you have your filling. In the meanwhile, pop the fajita's in the oven and pour some salsa and sour cream into small pots...dinner is served!
At this time of year one of my favourite teas is grilled lamb chops (sometimes minty ones) with jersey royal potatoes and fresh peas if I can get them.
hubby made me lemon chicken with rice and broccoli with a cheese sauce, very yummy. especially since he was off today and I wasnt
i was just gonna suggest fajitas but somone has beaten me 2 it!!
i use tortilla wraps a lot. chicken, cheese and salad is my fave. but they're good for anything. minced beef and a hot salsa is nice. xXx
If you like steak, i'm going to let you in on a secret of mine which i have been regulary requested for by friends, family and everyone elso who has tasted it.

I call it Big T's Steak.

You need a good sirloin steak (or 3 - i'm a big eater)
You also need a sh*t load of HP sauce.(1/2 mug)
2 Tea Spoon Sweet Chile Dippin Sauce
3 Tea spoon Soy Sauce
Pinch Chile Powder.
+ any other herbs / spices you want to add

Mix the HP sauce, sweet chile, soy and chile powder and marinade the steak for as long as possible (try for no more than 8 hrs, i have left it to marinaded for over 24 hrs and its still good) Grill the steak or BBQ until its cooked to your liking. The HP make the best BBQ sauce ever. The sauce basically burns at the sides and make it all the better.

oooooohh trevoraston i might try your steak idea sounds good! thanks guys for your suggestions!xx
You should try warm pitta breads filled with chicken pieces marinated in creamy tikka marinade (M&S) and grilled. Fill them with this and some FINELY shredded red cabbage (you can toss this in a little white wine vinegar + sugar mix. Finely shredded lettuce and onion. I also top it with a minty mayo. ( mix mayo with a little cream and colemans mint sauce) The kids love it.....especially with a side order of chips. Give it a go

Taco Soup

1 Pound of Hamburger (I think you guys call it Minced Beef) Browned & Drained

1 Pack Taco Seasoning

1 Can Rotel Tomatoes (has jalapeno peppers in it)

1 Can Dark Red Kidney Beans

1 Can Corn Whole Kernel

1 Can of Water

Mix together & cook until it looks done.

After you put it in your bowl taste it, it is great that way and less fattening then put a big blob of sour cream in it and mix it up then taste it again.

Garnish with black olives, cheese, onions, chives whatever makes you happy.

I usually double the recipe and freeze some - so all I have to do is microwave it the next time.
