From the "Burdall's gravy block shop". Phil, if you don't mind me asking, why do you want to know? (because AB gets asked this on a regular basis - have you got this from a recipe or something?). But seriously see this link for details question 23502
Come on Phil we all really want to know ... why do so many people need to find this????
Is this a drugs code?
I'm thinking of giving up the day job and selling this stuff on the black market.
No, I think it's someone being detained at her majesty's pleasure. It actually means have the ladder round the back of D Wing on Saturday night while the screws are watching the premiership and we're over the wall.
Wendy - I was intrigued by this Q, so about a couple of weeks ago I started searching and found that it's a necessary part of a diet for an illness ( the name escapes me now). What was found and the responses are on a different part of the site - so their is a genuine reason for these questions.
Just found the link - it might throw some light on the reason for the interest: question 24518
Dear Phenylketonuria sufferers, please accept my apologies for any mirth pointed in your direction and good luck in your genuine quest for this product. DV
Phil - my apologies also for the way some regular users of the site seem happy to assume so much about you and be so quick to reply without actually answering! There is a great interest in gravy salts on the Message Board of a website for the village of Wymondham, Leicestershire, which is where Burdall's Gravy Salt was manufactured. If you try this link you may find someone who can answer your question!...

I have just checked out the http://web.ukonline.co.uk/nspku/lists/diet0101.htm and whilst Burdall Gravy Block is indeed mentioned ... so are 13 other gravy mixes ... including Bisto and all the other ones we have heard of ... so I'm still not convinced that that is the reason the question keeps being asked.
Mmm, back to the conspiracy theories...
have used burdalls gravy block for 40 years surprise, surprise, its used to make gravy. all the major suermarkets used to stock it ,but i have been unable to find it for the last 12 months, can anyone helpme to track it down
samwal ... not suprised that you havent been able to find Burdall in the last 12 months as they stopped production 2 years ago. However, try http://www.network54.com/Hide/Forum/message?forumi

as someone else is in the process of starting to manufacture it.
At long last - a definitive response is available - you may buy you gravy block from here...

Praise be - rekstout, you deserve a medal!
Hurrah for reskout!! I fall on your neck in gratitude and humility.
However, I still think it's strange how this question is always just one sentence and the poster never replies to quieries from us answerers.....the conspiracy theory is looking good.
