A cash and carry - Makro, Costco, Landmark, Bellevue etc.

At present the 'normal' hot Tabasco is the only one in the larger bottle. Cost about 5.50. Other varieties are still in the smaller bottles.

If you don't have access to a C&C get a pal who uses them to buy you a bottle next time they go.

Thanks nickmo. There is a Makro not too far away from me, I shall have to go for a spin. I actually havent tried the other varieties (exept for the extra hot), are they any good?

Hi boyo bach - mild is less agressive, chipotle is like a bbq sauce, garlic is as it says and the habanero is extremely hot compared to the regular. The regular is quite thin, and the others have a thicker consistency to them, so that may get them to last a bit longer anyway.

Depends where you want to use them as well - in cooking, as a dressing, in dips, as a straight sauce etc, - each has a different 'heat' and flavour that will suit differnt meals, so may be worth just trying them to see which you prefer.

have fun....

Nice one nickmo! I tried to look on the internet for sites that would send me a big bottle as well...very hard to find...mostly american sites!! annoying! Anyway, I shall venture out and try some of the others instead of sticking with the old faithfull!...but will no doubt slip a few bottles of the traditional in the trolley also!! ;-)
We went to the Tabasco sauce "factory" in Louisiana, last year while we were on holiday. Brought back loads of goodies, including big bottles of all the available flavours. Needless to say suitcases were a bit on the heavy side on the way back. Tried some tabasco ice-cream which was a bit of a spicy/cold contradiction- definately an acquired taste!

boyo bach - try using Encona West Indian Pepper Sauce, it's marvellous a similar flavour to Tobasco but hotter, so less is needed. The bottle is 3 times the size of Tobasco and around 80p where I live, will last you ages.

Question Author
Hi madham! Thanks for that, I have a slight recollection that a bottle of Encona has visited my cupboard once, but canr really remeber what I thought....although I do recall the hotness you mentioned!! so I might have to give it another try! Thanks for the reminder.
