I was watching John and Lisa's Weekend Kitchen and the made a cola float with vanilla ice cream. I loved these as a kid and I think they might have done them in Wimpy's but can't recall.

What retro food or drink did you like that you rarely see now?

Mad Dog 20/20... I wasn't always the well respected nice fella I am today.

In my teens it was my poison of choice they may well still do them though but not sure.

I don't remember that but when I was in my early 20s I loved a rum & black or a whisky & Stones ginger wine.
I've always suspected you were naughtier than I Tigger ;-)
Misspent youths aside I do remember the cola float... no way could I have one these days.

Those were the days! ;o)
Lots of food that I used to eat, along with most other people, but is hard to buy now. Chitterlings (my favourite sandwich with mustard), faggots and grey peas, sago, haslet, chawl, trotters.
In the 60s I used to love a sliced loaf called Nutty Brown, lovely texture and flavour but long gone.
Firkins sold a pineapple tart, they were lovely.
More a sweet than a food, Acid Drop Spangles. Anyone remember them?
Knickerbocker Glory.
Not sure if these are still served?
Remember Ricecreamola?
Frozen Jublies

Barry, we still sell haslet at Morrisons - may not taste like you remember though.
Cafes and ice cream parlours still sell knickerbocker glories, some seaside fish and chips restaurants do, too. I remember Wimpy serving them
Jubbly was blerdy horrible, the waxed paper used to set my teeth on edge and you were left with a big block of frozen water when you'd sucked all the flavour out. Sticky hands and arms, too
Tinned cream!
Oh they do..
Thanks Barry.
Spam & Spud Fritters! Slice of Spam in-between 2 slices of potato, dipped in batter and deep-fried. Heaven for starving teenagers in the early 60's
I've a vague memory of acid drop spangles
Ginger beer floats were lovely.
Sherbet fountains, are they still made?
Tesco occasionally sells tubs of knickerbocker glory ice cream with strawberry and peach flavours, a peach sauce and sprinkles. Just add tinned fruit, chopped nuts, a wafer and a blob of clotted cream :D
retro drink - - do I drink it or what?
I'll have a look, Barry :-)
Yes, I remember the acid drop spangles, Sandy. I used to buy them.
