I tried to make guacamole but used Piccolo Cherry Tomatoes and it messed it up. These tomatoes left stringy piff / pulp from the tomato in the guac which was horrid as you can imagine.

What tomato should I have used? I seem to get the wrong one every damn time.

Question Author
Jamie oliver says 6 ripe cherry tomatoes but BBC says one big fat ripe one.

I just want one without any stringy pulp :( I don't like tomatoes usually so i don't know the factors of the different strains.
I don't know what stringy pulp you mean. Have you tried deseeding it first?
Question Author
No i've not tried that.

I use a blender to make my Guac. When i blend the tomatoes they get obliterated yet they leave fibres that don't get broken down by the blades. This gives the overall Guac a stringy consistency within the Guac consistency. It's horrid.

It's like little fibres or fish bones in the guac.. that style of thing. It must have been the tomatoes.
Deseed and cut by hand. Avocado really doesn't need to go in a food processor.
Question Author
Ummm it's got to go in the processor else I feel i've wasted me money. (like most kitchen appliances / juicers etc...)

Also I do like a very smooth avacado but you're right to be fair I'd rather the tomato chunked.
Go more chunky Spath, all you need is a knife and a fork.
Question Author
ok I will for my tomato but not my Avocado.
Good luck with it Spath, I honestly wouldn't know where to start.

My Miss loves it and because we love tacos (Always making tacos) I make my own guac.. And you can have it in tacos or with tortilla chips!

It usually goes well but last two times i've fully ruined it with the tomatoes. I do think it's because I put them in the nutriblender. So now on i will do it all in the nutri blender liek usual except for the tomato.
Lord knows what's been eating your tomatoes that you've now near liquidised.
Question Author
It's got lots of vitamins and minerals in it also! Bit of garlic, onion, avacado (very green), lime and tomato! Sometimes a touch of pepper but the Miss doesn't like it spicy.
Since avocado doesn't taste very nice, and it's only the other ingredients that make it palatable, I'd really not reccomend going chunky. You'd end up with am unpleasant taste every mouthful.
I love avocado.

I have no idea what's wrong with this spell check and it's list of suggested words !

OG i find with lime or lemon Avacado is a different fruit completely. Along with onion and garlic it really does taste splendid.

If you are a rich man which i'm not, fresh coriander is also a treat in Guac.
There's not much goodness in uncooked tomatoes.
Question Author
I agree.. they're grim. However, i don't mind tomatoes in things Like sandwiches or dishes like Guac or a burger.
Yes...the more tomatoes are cooked the better they are for you.
Question Author
