Sunday. Well it's dry now. Let's hope it stays that way. I'm beginning to go rusty! We are told however, that it's going to get colder before it gets warmer. Hasn't anyone told the weather gods it April?
Going down to the canal this morning, just to see a mate. Might find my way to the TA after. The car sometimes does that of it's own volition. :o}
Have a happy day everyone.

I'm going to Martindale in the Lake District this morning for a remembrance service for all those lost on HMS Glorious. The church is called St Peters-in-Martindale, at the side of Ullswater. There is a stained glass window in the church dedicated to HMS Glorious and at one time it was the only memorial in this country that was dedicated to the ship. Looks like it could stay dry. Hope so. When I get back we're taking my granddaughter out for a meal to celebrate her 16th birthday. Should be good. But apart from that, it's a quiet day!
Morning waterboatman. My uncle died on the Glorious. He was only 18 years old. There were many, many teenagers lost on her. My uncle was a telegraphist. The loss of the Glorious had some kind of state secrecy because the govt placed a 100 year ban on all files relating to her loss, the files not to be opened till 2041. We think it had something to do with the Norwegian Royal Family, who were being evacuated at the time, along with the Norwegian gold reserves and crown jewels.
