When you have a contract to make these premium brands it normally on the provision that only premium brands are made at the factory.
Otherwise the customer could think and have thought that its the exact same product only in a cheaper packet.
hence the saying "we don,t make cornflakes for anyone else" on Kellog,s box

My sister used to work in a biscuit factory and they made stuff for Marks and Spencer’s too. It had to be made in a different area to the other biscuits. It was wagon wheels and walnut whips that Marks and Spencer’s made their own version. My sister started going to an afternoon club a little while ago and one of the ladies was waffling on about how superior Marks stuff was to others and she took great delight in telling her that they were actually made by the same company!
cleodog - but not necessarily to the same recipe. Why do you think they had to be made completely separately from the other products?
Many years ago I had a friend who loved Saab cars. I commented that one model used a Leyland engine and he responded by telling me it was made to a higher spec for Saab.
