Just made a batch..yum yum....will keep some out and freeze about 12 ..into toaster from frozen for breakfast...with butter and perhaps cheese on some for mid morning snack...so easy to do ...
You should try them...no fat..just flour milk water salt yeast and soupcon of sugar...

Thin or thick ?

I like the Black Country ones (we called them pikelets in the old days) which are about half as thick as your standard Warbos.

Thick...May make pikelets for jam...sweet stuff..
I must try making them - never thought of doing that.
Why make them when you can buy them ready-made cheaper than bread?
Ah Jackdaw, but will they taste so delicious. Something very satisfying about eating something you have made with your own hands.
Do you need a special "crumpet maker" MM?
Is this Wbm's recipe? I have heard mention of it many times - any chance you could put it up? I`ve never made them before
