I swear if I see another burger or hotdog I will scream. Today my cousin is doing pulled pork in burger buns and the traditional Mac n cheese! I shall just have the pork with salad and forgo that huge cherry pie!
I must have gained a stone and no one is interested in smoothies. :-(

My best ever American breakfast was cinnamon and raisin eggy bread served with crispy bacon and maple syrup. It was awesome.

When I travel I like to stay in self catering places as I get hungry and inspired walking around the supermarkets. Sadly that has rarely been the case in the US and I have visited many, many states.

I'm now contemplating burgers for supper tomorrow :-/
Pasta...don't....you are making me hungry !

I have tried making an American breakfast here at home, but it never tastes the same.
I forgot to say once, and only once, I have enjoyed Mac n cheese. It was prepared by a Masterchef Professionals winner and was seriously pimped up. If I could recall her mix of cheeses and savouries I'd be a happy lady.
Macaroni cheese and chips?! That has to be something akin to curry and chips! Why on earth would anyone want to eat that?

Just to say that even in America, you are in control of your own mouth. You don't have to eat everything you're served.
Knowing the power of food on brain and body, that is often easier said than done.
Whilst you a slating it Naomi have you ever tried it?
No, Islay, I haven't. The very idea is enough to put me off for life!
I have to admit I'd never contemplate the two together. When I first came to the UK, I was horrified to see lasagne and chips together. I still am.
I was puzzled by the term mac n cheese till I saw a later post. My mother used to make this but it was the main meal, not a side dish. She used to add hard-boiled eggs and tomatoes to the dish. I have fond memories of it as I have of cauliflower cheese, again a dish on its own.
Perhaps you need to try it before slating it then Naomi!
Pasta...Arnold Wesker thought of it first !

I'll pass on that thanks, Islay.
Oh you do surprise me Naomi especially as you are so keen on telling people that they shouldn't comment on something that they have no knowledge (or less knowledge than you) ;-)
Islay why are you getting stroppy? I know what each tastes like - and to my mind they don't go together. It's ok if I say that, isn't it?
Oh luv I am not getting stroppy at all, quite the opposite I find you very amusing

I must confess, Mac n fries does not appeal to me. I had the other day sweet potato fries they were coated in a light batter and they were delish.

I still want a burger.

Naomi, not everyone shares your view of the world, you seem to struggle with this!
EcclesCake, hardly a view of the world, but Pastafreak seems to share my view of this particular meal so she'd better watch out!

Eccles, come here all sorts of burgers, fancy one with blue cheese n bacon Tec.
All home made using pounds of minced beef or ground beef as my cousin. Would say!!!
My cousin is doing the pork on the Barbie. Hope it comes out alright.
