Monday. Lots of rain during the night, but all calm and tranquil now. Tiggy didn't hang about, I haven 't seen him move so fast for a long time!

A very nice morning on the canal yesterday. As always some lovely people came in. Some beautiful boats on the move too.

What happens today depends very much on the weather.

fine ta..had a lazy day yesterday as it rained most of the day, made some lovely cinnamon and sultana fruit loaf..ate half and took the rest to a friend to save me from myself !! lol.. going on a spooky walk with said friends tonight, the Edinburgh vaults and greyfriars graveyard....and on a boat trip round the Forth on Wednesday, did the boat thing with dad just a few weeks before he passed, although I hate boats , this is ok a large craft with indoor and outdoor viewing areas wee refreshments bar etc...looking forward to a bit of fresh air !!

That sounds very good minty. I made a fruit loaf on Saturday. not much of it left now! I had to do it by hand as my bread machine has gone to electronics cyber space. I'll get another one when Lidl have them in again. Same applies to bathroom scales. Both are about 15 or more years old, so they've done well.

could you still make the dough in machine and bake in oven if it is just the heating element that's gone ?

No. It stopped dead..literally! I took the covering off and tested all the circuits, If it was just the heating element I would have done so. I dismantled it and put the recyclable bits in the bin, the electronic bits will go to the tip. they have a bin for them.
I let the dough prove in the airing cupboard. It turned out OK. I might make some crumpets in the not too distant future.

I made a fruit loaf too! A Simnel cake recipe! Morning waterman, everyone!! How does everyone feel after over indulging ... you never feel any good after do you? lol. Tastes good at the time though. Another nice lie in, will have to get back to being orderly tomorrow morning, then we have the little un every day after work till Friday night.

minty, I pass Lidl every day on my way in to Dursley, I call in most days on the way back. Aldi is about twenty miles away. I prefer Lidl to be honest.

Ooh such ... what's the word ... too early ... when you can leave something. Yes it's always nice to have her here, had her Saturday, but she was poorly, listless, was nice to get a prolonged cuddle of her.
