Can I have trifle? Not a fan of cake.
As I do not have a sweet tooth, I tend to favour spiced cakes/breads.

Malt loaf, ginger cake, fruit cake and the such like interest me much more than something covered in marzipan or icing.
Hi, NoM...for me to make it's boozy truffle in chocolate cases....with chocolate rose leaves.....

To eat....the daughter's carrot cake...the best ever....x
Strangely enough, my favourite's raspberry bakewell cake. Where do you work!!!!!
One of my favourites too NoMercy.
Lemon drizzle is made in heaven, as is chocolate fudge.

Making trifle always stresses me out!

I have the same tastes as you, Eccles.

I'll save you a slice, arrods and Patsy.

I haven't made lemon drizzle for ages, Melv. I used to make a decent one.

Have you tried carrot and parsnip, Gness?
I do a mean bread pudding! ( Not bread & butter) Love it!
Carrot and parsnip, NoM....no I haven't......is it good?.....Will mention it to the daughter.....I bake.....she's a fantastic baker......and she's loved parsnips since she was a tot.....
coffee and walnut
I make a mean lemon drizzle. Also my other fave is coconut and cherry.
I like coffee and walnut too, also a black forest gateau.
Partial to a bit of lemon and courgette.
I love a chocolate fatless sponge filled with whipped cream and freshly picked raspberries. And, Coffee and walnut, lemon drizzle, rich ginger cake.. I love all cakes basically. Think I'm going to change my name to B00 :o)
I was never a cake fan either, but I discovered salted caramel cheesecake at a recent meal out.
That was yummy.
Toss up between a Classic Victoria Sponge or a Cherry Almond Loaf
"carrot and parsnip" Ewww. Parsnips to me taste like how I would imagine dirty dishwater tastes.

My cake weaknesses are cheesecakes and one time a friend baked what was profiteroles put inside a circular cake ring then smothered with a toffee and something similar to toffee icing which wasn't too sweet finsihed of with a raspberry coulis. It was heaven.
Hi Queenie. Next time you're in Edinburgh go see the girls at The Haven. Fab cakes. xx
